I remember, back in 2004 as we went to Iraq to forge a Republic, that many were throwing about Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Here was a genuine Hobbesian ooze: a country without a Leviathan. We learned a few things that bear repeating now, in this time, in this nation:

1) Maslow was wrong. He hit the high points, but ignored the place of loyalty and justice in the human heart.

2) Locke and Nozick nailed it. All useful politics are local in nature. They can call the sky "green" in DC, but until my people here acknowledge it, that's a fucking pipe-dream.

3) The human race evolved into the dominant species on the planet by having an a priori sense of when they're being bullshitted, who they can trust, and a manner of implicit communication unlike any other species. This fact, when tied to those above, is why tyranny inevitably fails and God prevails...

...the sovereignty of the individual.

A good and instructive article, sir. And I thank the gentleman.

Important essay.

But like say the Arakia , we cannot avoid proving our… standing. We are the other land between two rivers; the Hudson and the Potomac.

(Indulge the metaphor, it’s not geography).
