Our veterinarian in San Antonio told us once how his great grandfather had been given a speeding ticket on some empty rural road. He refused to pay and was hauled into court. Ticketing officer presented the evidence (radar gun) and judge asked the old man how he pleaded. The old man asked the judge who his father and grandfather were and then told the judge: "Your grandfather and I had to fight off a band of Apaches for 12 hours from behind an overturned wagon long before that road was ever paid and I'll be dammed if I'm going to let that wet-behind-the-ears policeman is going to make me pay for traveling on a road I defended with my life...along with your grand daddy." The cased was dismissed.
I can't believe you wrote this two years ago... but man it definitely got me thinking. The spirit of this country is lost, but I strongly believe it will be back, stronger than ever, making our forefathers and our ancestors proud.
All it takes is one soul at a time and you definitely affected mine (in a VERY good way), so thank you.
This is high art. Really speaks to me.
Thanks, brother. I really appreciate hearing that.
Was very inspired reading this man. God bless your family.
Thank you, Sean.
This really hits hard and deep - thank you for writing.
